The 2026 general meetings of the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Foundation and ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Services were held on Tuesday 16 June in Bern. The members of the Foundation and the shareholders of ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Services approved all items on the agenda. In particular, Mr Christian Petit was newly elected as a member of the board of directors of ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Services. All other members of both boards were also re-elected for a further year.

Christian Petit spent most of his career at Swisscom (over 15 years), where he was a member of the executive management, successively heading the Private Customers division and then serving as CEO of Swisscom Enterprise Customers. He then joined Romande Energie in June 2019 as CEO, a role he held until the end of 2024. During this time, he successfully integrated sustainability into the heart of the company’s new strategy. He is currently managing director of Advisum Consulte Sàrl and a member of the executive committee of swisscleantech.

The shareholders of ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Services SA also approved the new integrated annual report, which includes a sustainability report outlining ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½â€™s key ESG issues. This report includes a limited assurance from the audit firm Mazars on 14 key indicators. As every year, this meeting also provided an opportunity for ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Foundation members and ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Services shareholders, the vast majority of whom are Swiss pension funds, with an opportunity learn about and discuss a topical ESG issue. Prof. Dr Corinne Zellweger-Gutknecht, Professor of Private and Business Law and Director of the Institute of Private Law at the University of Basel, spoke on the topic of banking regulation. She provided an overview of the current reform, outlined the main points of contention regarding the three packages affecting major systemic banks, and explained why she believed these rules are necessary.

This was followed by a panel discussion featuring, alongside Corinne Zellweger-Gutknecht, Marc Hänni, Head of Swiss Equities at Vontobel, Christian Hofer, Head of Sustainability at Raiffeisen Bank, and Vincent Kaufmann, CEO of the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Foundation. They discussed the potential effects of the ongoing reform, and the opportunities and risks it could present for the Swiss financial centre as a whole. In this regard, it is worth noting that the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Foundation has publicly stated its position on several occasions in recent months as part of consultation procedures conducted by the Federal Department of Finance and also at the UBS Annual General Meeting:
